Dallas worked their magic again and took one of two on Sunday from SCAC leader Southwestern.
Rosengren's deep fly ball to center field gave Southwestern their first run in the bottom of the first inning, plating Ramos. UD matched the effort with a sacrifice fly by Begle to bring home Tesauro to tie the game 1-1 in the fourth.
Ally Holland gave SU a two run lead with a two RBI chopper up the middle in the fourth, putting SU on top 3-1.
Southwestern pushed across three runs in the fifth inning including two off a Dallas error. Rosengren legged out a sacrifice bunt at first and then hustled around the bases after a Crusader error to score. Through five the Pirates led 6-1.
Dallas had one final push in them and plated two on a two-run homerun to left field by Kotlar, but Cozette Palmer and the Pirates closed out the win with flies on the next two batters.
Palmer earned the win, her eighth of the season, allowing three runs on five hits while walking two and striking out two. At the plate Marissa Irvin continued her hot streak, going 3-3 while Sydney Oorlog and Taylor Curtis both went 2-3.
As game two got underway both teams were quick to score, posting one run each in the first inning. Southwestern took a brief lead with one run in the second, but Dallas was quick to respond with two runs in the top of the third.
Dallas added two more in the fourth which proved to be enough as SU was only able to score one more run the rest of the way, falling 5-3.
Novander suffered the loss, allowing two runs on six hits in 1.1 innings of work. Palmer started the game and returned midway through, allowing three runs on five hits while walking two and striking out one.
Rosengren and Michele Ramos logged three hits each to lead the way for Southwestern while UD's Taylor Garcia was unstoppable at the plate, going 3-3 with four RBIs in the win.
Southwestern falls to 14-12 on the year and 10-2 in the SCAC after the weekend split. Dallas moves to 16-10 overall and 9-5 in conference. The Pirates return to the road to face Austin College in Sherman for a four game series that starts on Friday afternoon.
