GEORGETOWN, Texas - Wittenburg scored four unanswered goals to steal the win from Southwestern, 13-11, Tuesday afternoon.
Wittenberg shot out of the gate for three early goals before the Pirates even got warm, but SU closed the half with four straight to lead 7-6.
Ronni Winter's free position goal to start the second half gave Southwestern a two goal advantage and they would not trail again until Wittenberg scored their 12th goal with 6:46 to play.
Southwestern had a few great looks to close the game, but the Eagles' goalkeeper kept their lead intact for the win.
The Pirates move to 2-2 on the season with the loss and remain at home to face Beloit College on Wednesday at 6 pm.
