THE COLONY, Texas - The Southwestern University men's swimming team put together another outstanding meet during the four day SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships at the Lewisville Aquatic Center and earned a second place finish on Saturday night.
Trinity won the event with 974.5 total points followed by the Pirates with 813.5. Colorado College was third with 529 points followed by Centenary in fourth at 483 and Austin College in fifth at 324. McMurry and the Ozarks rounded out the rest of the field.
The Pirates got tremendous swims all evening as senior Michael Glover won the 100 free with a time of 46.65, holding off Colorado College's Martin Walker by .01 of a second. Freshman Alek Argueta followed that up with a win in the 200 breast at 2:05.75.
In the 1650, freshmen Matthew Oevermann and Andrew Pardini went 2-3 in the event with Oevermann finishing at 16:38.26 while Pardini checked in at 16:46.12. Junior Peter Robinson was second in the 200 back with a time of 1:52.60.
The Pirates will await to hear if any names will be called to the 2018 NCAA Championships in Indianapolis from March 21-24.
