SAN ANTONIO – At the conclusions of the Trinity Invite's second day of competition, the Pirates are maintaining strong performances. Southwestern's men's team is currently placed fourth in the overall rankings behind Henderson State, Wayland Baptist, and Texas-Permian Basin.
Mickey Scharbrough's third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke was the highest individual placing of the evening. His time of 58.72 was a season best and the fastest time recorded in the SCAC this year.
In the 400 IM, senior captain Shelby Hall powered to a 4:15.92 and a sixth-place finish. Following in seventh-place was Martin Martinez in his fourth swim of the day with a time of 4:20.22.
The Bucs concluded their evening with a fifth-place finish in the 400 medley relay. The team of Glover, Scharbrough, and Sluss was anchored by first-year standout Todd Coachman. Their combined efforts resulted in a time of 3:33.41.
The Trinity Invite will conclude Sunday.
