GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern men's soccer experienced their first heartbreaking loss against Teas Lutheran to break their undefeated streak in the SCAC.

In one of the highest scoring games the Pirates have had the whole season, both TLU and Southwestern kept the game strong on the offense. In the first half, Jake Swonke scored the first goal assisted by Brendan Dauth to give the Pirates the lead. Soon after, Swonke would score another goal to make the score 2-0 with 26 minutes in the half. TLU would answer back before the second period to make the score 2-1 going into the second half.

In the second half, the Pirates and Bulldogs would find goals being made right and left on both sides of the field. Swonke would score yet another goal for the Pirates, followed by Dejan Savic and Andrew Hernandez who would also put the ball in the box. However, the Bulldogs would answer back each goal to tie the game up 4-4 to lead the game into overtime.

The Pirates fought hard to put the ball in the net, but with three minutes left in overtime, TLU Bulldog Luis Green would score the game-winning shot to end the game 5-4.

Up next, the Pirates move forward to play the No. 1 team in the SCAC, Trinity. The game will take place Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 5:00 p.m.
