The Southwestern men's soccer team's magic ran out on Saturday evening as they fell to Oglethorpe University in the Semifinals of the SCAC Conference Tournament. The loss ends the Pirates' season at 8-10-1 overall and 4-5 in the SCAC.
Oglethorpe took control of the game early, scoring in just the second minute of the match. Southwestern had their looks throughout the rest of the half and locked down defensively, but were unable to score the equalizer.
Another goal by the Stormy Petrels early in the second half put SU down 2-0 and the Pirates couldn't mount the comeback they needed as they were bounced from the tournament.
OU took 17 shots to the Pirates' 3 and had a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
