Charlie Fisher was just one save shy of tying the SU record for saves in a game in a 19-9 loss to Colorado College on Saturday.
Colorado posted a goal first just a minute and a half into the game and added three more before the Pirates broke the seal. Dakota Butler, assisted by Jordan Riggs, punched it home to send the Pirates into the second quarter trailing 4-1.
Southwestern opened the scoring in the second half as Everett Barger punched one home unassisted less than two minutes in. The Pirates maintained the pace and kept up with the crafty Tigers in the third as each team posted five goals in the frame.
CC opened the fourth with four straight, however, and the Pirates were unable to make up enough ground as they fell 19-9.
Barger led the Pirates in scoring with three goals and one assist while Butler added three goals and Matthew Montagne two assists.
Southwestern trailed 32-19 in ground balls and 63-21 in shots while winning just nine of 32 faceoffs.
The loss drops the Pirates to 6-9 on the year. They close the season on Sunday as they face Whittier College in Colorado Springs at 1 pm CST.
