IRVING, Texas - Southwestern rattled off five unanswered goals in the first half to kick off a dominating 13-2 win over the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon. The win improves the Pirates to 5-6 on the year and 2-0 in the SCAC.

It was a slow start to the game offensively as both defenses took control, but with just under seven minutes to play in the first quarter Southwestern finally got on the board with a man down goal from Carter Cowan, assisted by Jackson Timian. Austin Fox, assisted by Jamie Long, scored a man up goal with just seconds remaining on the clock to give SU a 2-0 lead after one quarter.

After the scoring started there was no stopping the Pirates as they scored four goals in the second quarter. Long and Cowan teamed up for the first goal just 30 seconds into the frame and Fox and Connor Koper joined forces for a goal two minutes later to push the lead to four. Alex Michael closed the half with a pair of unassisted goals to send SU into the break up six, 6-0.

The streak continued after halftime with unassisted goals from Tyler Downing and Jackson Timian before UD got their first goal of the game with 10:21 to go in the third quarter. SU responded with two more goals and added three in the fourth before Dallas scored the final goal of the game to arrive at the 13-2 final.

Five Pirates, Michael, Fox, Downing, Cowan and Long, all scored two goals while William Munck, Matt Zagurski and Jeremy Tuffnell joined Fox, Long and Cowan with assists. AJ Cole had three saves while allowing no goals in 30 minutes between the posts while Charlie Fisher posted another three saves on five shots in the final 30 minutes.
