TYLER, Texas - Southwestern was unable to get their potent offense going as UT Tyler used a steady stream of runs to defeat the Pirates 15-5 Tuesday evening.
Southwestern started out on the right foot as Cole Kelly drove home Daniel Montgomery with a double to right field. UTT answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning to take an early lead.
The Patriots would never trail again as they added two in the second and one in the fourth and fifth before piling on five in the sixth and four in the eighth.
Tyler Polasek garnered the loss on the mound while UTT's Ryan Cheatham earned the win.
Southwestern drops to 16-21 on the year and returns home as they host Concordia University on Thursday evening at 7 pm.
