Pirates Finish in Top Ten in Final AVCA National Poll

The final American Volleyball Coaches Association national rankings came out and Southwestern University was ranked #9 nationally.

Southwestern once again made the NCAA Division III National Tournament where they faced the University of Texas at Dallas in the opening game in San Antonio.  After winning 3-0, the Pirates would take on conference rival Trinity who knocked Southwestern out of the tournament last year.  Southwestern was able to avenge their previous loss by outlasting the Tigers and winning 3-2.  The win sent the Pirates to Regional Final match where they would lose to eventual the national champion, Emory. 

The Pirates finished the season with a 36-5 record overall and 15-1 in the SCAC conference.  Coach Hannah Long will lose two seniors from this years successful team.
