2008 [Junior Year]
Led the Pirates in kills in her junior season with 432 in 124
games or 3.48 per game...had just 170 errors in 1360 total attempts
for a .193 attack percentage...aced 42 serves, tied for third on
the team, and had just 30 service errors...recorded 20 digs, 10
solo blocks and 31 blocking assists for a .33 blocks per game
average...AVCA Division III All-America Third Team...AVCA Division
III South All-Region...SCAC Player-of-the-Year...All-SCAC First
Team.
2007 [Sophomore Year]
Following her great rookie season, Gentry was selected to the
All-SCAC Third Team in just her second season for the Bucs...she
started in all 42 matches and played in 145 games on the year...she
lead the team in kills (471), averaging 3.25 per game...had a .214
attack percentage...also had 6 assists and 22 service aces...she
was selected as the SCAC Player of the Week for the week of Oct
22-28 where she led the Pirates to a 5-0 record hitting .287 for
the week and had a total of 71 kills...she ranked 7th in the SCAC
in kills per game (3.25) leading the Bucs to another NCAA
Tournament bid...also recorded 47 blocks on the year.
2006 [Freshman Year]
Gentry finished the 2006 campaign with the highest attack
percentage of all first-years on the team, hitting at a .250 clip,
which was third best on the team...she recorded a career-high 12
kills in a match against Millsaps College and also had a 12-dig
match against the University of Texas-Dallas.
High School
Gentry earned four letters in volleyball, two in basketball and
one in softball during her time as a Sun Devil. She was named the
senior volleyball student-athlete of the year in 2005 and earned
All-State laurels in 2003 and 2004. She helped lead her team to a
state championship during her career as she also was named team
Most Valuable Player three years in a row from 2003-2005.
Personal
Gentry is the daughter of Denny and Connie Gentry...has one
brother - Lucas and one sister - Lacee... is majoring in
communications with a minor in English.
