LEXINGTON, Ky. - Senior outside hitter Rachel Thibodeau earned her second consecutive spot on the AVCA First Team All-South Region on Thursday.
Thibodeau's selection comes on the heels of receiving First Team All-SCAC honors and being named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Year.
Thibodeau has been the go-to offensive threat for the Pirates this season. Averaging 3.35 hills per set this season, she leads Southwestern and the SCAC. She is also tops in digs per set (3.02) and hit .204. She was also selected to the SCAC All-Tournament Team.
Southwestern, 24-11, earned their eighth consecutive spot in the NCAA National Tournament and play California Lutheran in the opening round on Friday night. Game time is set for 8 p.m. PT.
