Pirates Lead Nation in Digs Per Set

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Coach Hannah Long knew at the start of the season that SU's defense would be a strength. Currently, the Pirates are leading the nation in digs per set, averaging 21.76.

The change in tactic has been working for the Pirates as Southwestern shifted from an offensive minded squad to a defensive focus. Franciscan is just behind SU in the category, averaging 21.50 per set.

Chandler Lentz is leading SU in digs/set at 5.18 while Kaitlyn Foster has been carrying a heavy load as well, averaging 4.46.

Southwestern currently sits at 14-6 on the season, 5-1 in the SCAC. They head to Boston, Massachusetts today to play four matches in the Beacons Invitational, including a Friday evening match against #5 Christopher Newport.
