18 Pirates Earn Chi Alpha Sigma Honors
Southwestern University had 18 student-athletes inducted into the 2011 class of the Chi Alpha Sigma National Athletic Honor Society on Wednesday. This award is presented annually to juniors and seniors who have earned an athletic letter, carry a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better and are community members in good standing.

54 Student-Athletes Receive Senior Watches at Annual Ceremony
Thanks to the generous donations of parents, alumni and students in the Pirate Crew, Southwestern University's Booster Club, the Athletic Department was able to continue the tradition of awarding watches to senior athletes whom had completed eligibility while at SU.

Women's Tennis Takes Two of Three at Conference Challenge
With the SCAC Conference Tournament quickly approaching the Southwestern women's tennis team was able to size up some of their competition at the Conference Challenge hosted by Austin College over the weekend. The Pirates went 2-1 at the event to improve to 9-6 on the season.

Southwestern's women's tennis team jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles action and never looked back as they easily defeated McMurry University 8-1 on Saturday morning. The win improves the Pirates to 7-4 on the year.

SEGUIN, Texas - The Pirate women’s tennis team hit the courts for their first event of the 2010-11 schedule and had a good showing against some tough, out-of-division competition at the Doc Skogman Invitational hosted by Texas Lutheran. Four Pirates reached the finals of their respective draws with first-year Elyse Bigler winning the women’s B draw.
