Women Swimmers Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Honor for Fall 2012; Women Seventh in Nation

GEORGETOWN, Texas- The College Swimming Coaches Association of America announced their Fall 2012 Scholar All-America Team honors and the Southwestern women's swimming team captured the seventh overall team GPA among Division III schools.


The Pirate women's squad boasted an impressive 3.53 team GPA this fall, just .6 of a point behind national Division III leader Pomona-Pitzer.  Three other Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference schools were listed in the report.  Colorado College (3.49), Austin College (3.32), and Trinity University (3.15) rounded out the list.


The Pirate men's and women's team ended the 2012-2013 season with both teams finishing in 4th place at the SCAC Championships.  The teams collectively broke 17 school records and posted three NCAA "B" cuts.
