Impressive Showing By The Pirates At The SCAC Championships

Rockwall, Texas – The Southwestern University Women's swimming team ended the SCAC Championships with a fantastic 4th place finish, the team captured 372 points, 2 school records, and a NCAA "B" Cut.

The Pirates continued their strong performance through the last day of the event. Emily Haskell set the tone coming in 2nd place in the 200 Breaststroke, all while setting a school record in the event. Mara Weidmann and Sarah McCausland both had personal best times in this event and placed 7th and 8th respectively.
Emmay Gradiser came in with her personal best time in the 200 Backstroke. Melissa Nelson came in with her season best time in the 200 Fly coming in 7th and Sarah Alpini came in 8th in the event.
In the 100 Freestyle Blythe Nava continued her strong showing with her personal best time.
The Pirates now gear up for the NCAA Championships that begin on March 20th 2013 in Shenandoah, Texas.
