Pirates Swim Hard But Lose To Centenary College

Shreveport, Louisiana – The Southwestern University Women's Swimming Team lost their meet on Saturday January 26, to Centenary Collage by a score of 120 to 81.

The Pirates in defeat showed well, they dominated the 100 Breaststroke winning the 1st-3rd. Emily Haskell came in 1st, Mara Weidman came in 2nd and Sarah McCausland place 3rd.  Sarah McCausland also placed 2nd in the Individual Medley.
Emmy Gradisar placed 1st in the 200 Backstroke. The relay teams that have been strong all year for the Pirates placed 2nd and 3r . The 2nd place relay team was made up of Sarah McCausland, Emily Haskell, Blythe Nava, and Sarah Alpini. The 3rd place team was made up of Emmy Gradiser, Mara Weidman, Melissa Nelson, and Jessi Winters.
 
The Pirates now gear up for the SCAC Championships, which will be held on February 13, 2013 in Rockwall, Texas.
