AYERS AND THOMPSON NAMED TO SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Both the Men and Women’s Swimming teams were named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) DIII Scholar All-Academic Teams. Also, Pirates Bailey Thompson and Sarah Ayers were both named Scholar All-America Honorable Mention.

Southwestern Men finished 21st of all Division III schools and 2nd of all SCAC schools. While the
Southwestern Women finished 52nd of all Division III schools and 3rd of all SCAC schools.

Bailey Thompson and Sarah Ayers were named Scholar All-America Honorable Mention. Thompson, a Junior from Garland, TX, is a Communication major and Political Science minor at Southwestern. In 2009, Thompson won the 200 back and took second in the 100 backstroke at the SCAC Championships. Ayers, a Sophomore from Houston, TX, is a Mathematics and Education major at Southwestern.  She finished third in the 100 backstroke at the 2009 SCAC Championships.
