No. 5: Gibbs tosses first and second no-hitter in program history

First-year pitcher, Nicole Gibbs captured history not once, but twice for the Southwestern University softball team during the 2014 season. Gibbs' two no-hitters was voted as the No. 5 Moment from the 2013-14 school year.

After reaching the midway point of the season Gibbs held Centenary College hitless on March 23 for the first no-hitter in the young history of the Pirate softball program. Just one walk and an error, Gibbs helped the Pirates to an 8-1 win over the Ladies making history in her 18th collegiate start.

Again just 21 days after making history for the Southwestern softball program, Gibbs tossed her second no-hitter of the season against Austin College. The Pirates cruised to a run rule 9-0 victory over the 'Roos giving the rookie her 8th win of the season.

Her second no-hitter saw her walk four batters while her efficiency was superb. Gibbs did not record a strikeout in either game making both no-hitters a true team effort.
