LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - First-year pitcher Cozette Palmer of Southwestern University was named SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance this past weekend.
Palmer, a first-year right handed pitcher from West Linn, Ore., has been selected the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 31st through Sunday, April 6th.
Palmer led the Pirates to a 2-0 weekend over the University of Dallas to catapult Southwestern into third place in the SCAC Softball Standings.
Palmer posted an impressive 0.77 ERA this week. In two games, 11.2 innings of work, she allowed just one earned run on five hits while striking out 15 and walking two. She entered in relief in game one and didn't allow a hit and recorded two wins in the two games.
Southwestern currently sits at 11-14-1 on the year and 7-5 in the SCAC and host their final home series of the year this weekend as they face Austin College for four games. First pitch for game one of the series is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday with game two to follow.
