Eryn Snyder Named SCAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Oct. 21, 2008

For the third week in a row, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference has named a Pirate as Player of the Week, with the Co-Defensive honors going to senior goalkeeper Eryn Snyder (Spring Branch, TX) for games played Monday, October 13 to Sunday, October 19.

Snyder recorded her fifth shutout of the season last weekend against Hardin-Simmons as the Bucs broke the Cowgirls' thirty-two game regular season home winning streak. In over eighteen hours of play this season, Snyder has allowed only eight goals, leading to an impressive 0.66 GA average.

Thanks in part to Snyder's performance, the Pirates have been ranked in tenth place in the South Region, a first for the team.

Southwestern women's soccer, whose record stands at 10-2-1 (5-1 SCAC) will continue conference play at home on Friday, October 24 against Millsaps.
