3 PIRATES EARN SCHOLAR ALL-SOUTH REGION HONORS

The 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America in conjunction with adidas named the Scholar All-South Region team over the holidays and 3 Pirates were named in the report.

Junior mid-fielder Laura Kromann was named to the Scholar All-South Region second team. Kromann, a Biology (Pre-Med) major from Austin, Texas, touts a 3.82 GPA. She served as a stabilizer in the middle for the Pirates, starting all 18 games this season. Kromann scored her only goal of the season against Sewanee. She was also an All-SCAC second team selection.

Seniors goalkeeper Eryn Snyder and forward Casey Grier earned Honorable Mention in the report. Snyder, an Anthropology major from Helotes, Texas, boasts a 3.72 GPA. Snyder was a constant in the goal, starting all 18 games for the Pirates in her final season. She recorded 78 saves while only allowing 12 goals on the year and earned a All-SCAC third team selection.

Grier is a Studio Art major from Spring, Texas and has a 3.69 GPA. She played in 17 games this season and was third on the team in points with 15. Grier had two multi-goal games this season and also earned an All-SCAC third team selection.
