Women's Soccer Recognized for Classroom Achievement

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Southwestern's women's soccer team received the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced.

Southwestern was one of three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference schools recognized in the announcement. Joining the Pirates were Austin College and Trinity. 

The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the pitch.

A total of 717 college soccer teams (220 men, 497 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year.
