18 Pirates Earn Chi Alpha Sigma Honors
Southwestern University had 18 student-athletes inducted into the 2011 class of the Chi Alpha Sigma National Athletic Honor Society on Wednesday. This award is presented annually to juniors and seniors who have earned an athletic letter, carry a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better and are community members in good standing.

Leadership Award Banquet
On Tuesday, April 12, 2011 was Southwestern University’s thirteenth annual Student Leadership Banquet. Students are nominated by professors, coaches, and other staff members based on their leadership skills in everyday life on campus.

54 Student-Athletes Receive Senior Watches at Annual Ceremony
Thanks to the generous donations of parents, alumni and students in the Pirate Crew, Southwestern University's Booster Club, the Athletic Department was able to continue the tradition of awarding watches to senior athletes whom had completed eligibility while at SU.

PIRATES SPLIT FINAL GAMES OF REGULAR SEASON
Southwestern's women's soccer team went 1-1 in their final road trip of the year, falling to Centre 1-0 on Friday and then defeating DePauw 1-0 on Sunday. The Pirates end the year at 9-8-1 overall and 5-5 in the SCAC.

GEORGETOWN, Texas - With nine seniors playing their final home match of the season the Southwestern women's soccer game was unable to pull out the win as they fell 2-1 to Sewanee on Sunday afternoon. With the loss SU falls to 8-7-1 overall and 4-4 in the SCAC.

PIRATES DOMINATE IN 2-0 WIN
On a beautiful and breezy day in Georgetown, the Pirates took on Ogelthorpe University. The match started with the Stormy Petrels pushing up into the Pirates’ backfield and taking the first shot of the game. After that shot, the Pirates took control for the rest of the game.

LATE GAME GOAL LIFTS PIRATES OVER PANTHERS
GEORGETOWN, Texas - Amy Douglas' (pictured) goal in the 75th minute gave the Pirates a 1-0 lead that lasted throughout the remainder of the contest as the Pirates defeated Birmingham Southern College on Friday afternoon 1-0. With the win SU improves to 6-5-1 on the season and 2-3 in the SCAC while BSC falls to 6-5 and 1-3.

GEORGETOWN, TX - The Pirate women's soccer team faced the University of Dallas in a non-conference match on Sunday afternoon and dominated the contest in shots and corners and emerged with a 2-1 win. SU is now 5-5-1 on the year and remain 1-3 in the SCAC.

GOALS ABOUND AS PIRATES WIN IN SEASON OPENER
BELTON, Texas - The aggressive Pirate offense came to play in Southwestern's season opener against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Wednesday. SU defeated the Cru 3-2 by scoring two goals in the final 12 minutes of the contest. Junior forward Jillian Curran (pictured) did a sensational job setting up her teammates, earning the assist on all three goals.
