SENIOR ATHLETES RECEIVE RECOGNITION OF YEARS AT FIRST WATCH CEREMONY
GEORGETOWN, Texas - Thanks to the generous donations of the members of Southwestern's first booster club, The Pirate Crew, the Athletic Department was able to begin a new tradition of awarding watches to senior athletes whom had completed eligibility while at Southwestern.

PIRATES HAVE 47 STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO FALL 2009 ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL
SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2009 fall term and 47 Southwestern student-athletes representing all five fall sports were earned recognition. A record 780 student-athletes conference-wide made the list.

PIRATE WOMEN SNAP STREAK WITH 2-1 WIN OVER OGLETHORPE
ATLANTA, Ga. Southwestern snapped their losing streak on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Oglethorpe University. The Pirates improve to 8-8-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the conference while the Petrels fall to 5-10 and 0-8 in the SCAC.

PIRATES SHUTOUT AT SEWANEE 2-0
SEWANEE, Tenn. The Southwestern womens soccer team was unable to pull off the upset as they fell to the second place Sewanee Tigers on Friday night 2-0. The Pirates fall to 7-8-1 on the season and 1-4-1 in SCAC action. Sewanee improved to 10-1-3 overall and 5-0-2 in the conference with the win.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas Southwesterns womens soccer team was unable to upset the #4 Trinity Tigers on Saturday night as they fell 4-0. The loss drops SU to 7-7-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the SCAC conference while the Tigers remain undefeated at 12-0, 5-0.

PIRATES LOSE BACK END OF HOME STAND 2-1 TO CENTRE
GEORGETOWN, Texas The Southwestern womens soccer team fell 2-1 to Centre College Sunday afternoon on the tail-end of their conference home stand to fall to 7-6-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the conference. The Colonels improve to 9-3-2 overall and 4-1-0 in the SCAC.

PIRATES DROP OVERTIME HEARTBREAKER AT BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Southwestern University and the Panthers alternated goal and were tied through regulation in Sundays SCAC match-up, but BSC scored five minutes into overtime to hand SU their third loss of the season, 3-2. The Pirates fall to 7-3-1 while Birmingham-Southern improves to 7-5.

DOUBLE OVERTIME ENDS IN DRAW AT MILLSAPS
JACKSON, Miss. The Pirates scored a goal late in the match but were unable to double up through two overtimes at Millsaps College on Friday night as the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Southwestern moves to 7-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the SCAC while Millsaps goes to 6-3-3 and 1-2-2 in the conference.

PIRATES TAKE THIRD OVERALL, FIRST OF DIII SCHOOLS
TEMPLE, Texas The Southwestern womens golf team finished in third place overall at the UMHB Lady Crusader Fall Invitational on Tuesday behind Lubbock Christian and Western Texas. The Pirates beat out eight Division III schools and were better than 13 schools overall.

PIRATES SNAG CONFERENCE OPENER IN OVERTIME WITH 3-2 VICTORY OVER AUSTIN COLLEGE
SHERMAN, Texas Southwesterns Maria Pollifrone (pictured) found the net with 3:10 left in overtime to lift the Pirates past Austin College 3-2 in SUs conference opener Sunday. The Pirates start off with a 1-0 conference mark and improve to 6-1 on the season. The Roos are now 4-3-1 overall this season and 0-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference competition.
