WOMEN'S GOLF FINISHES IN THIRD PLACE AT SCAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - For the first time in three years the Pirate women didn't claim the SCAC Conference title, finishing in third place at the 2010 Championships. Senior Kristen Davenport led the way coming in second place overall.

Davenport put up solid performances all weekend, shooting an 80, 83, 79 to end at 20 over par with 242 strokes. Fellow senior Cody Wallace was consistent throughout, shooting an 86 each round to end with 258 strokes at 36 over par, tied for ninth place. First-year Kelsey Coburn was close behind, finishing tied for 11th place at 38 over par with 260 strokes.

Fellow first-years Erin Perry and Stephanie Scholer rounded out the Pirate golfers. Perry came in 13th place at 262 strokes (40 over par) while Scholer ended in 24th place with 283 strokes (61 over par).

Southwestern will have to wait and see if they will still receive a bid to the NCAA Championships.
