WOMEN'S GOLF WINS DAY TWO; CAPTURE FIRST PLACE AT SU INVITATIONAL

GEORGETOWN, Texas- It was a complete team effort over the two day invitational as Southwestern University took first place overall with 677 strokes, 12 better than second place finisher UT-Tyler.

Kristen Davenport took first place individually, storming back from a tough opening round 85, shooting the lowest second round of the day, a 76. Her 164 combined stroke total was just two strokes ahead of second place finisher Natalie Matuszak of St. Mary's College (IN).

Kelsey Coburn, who led after day one, hit a few rough patches on the course enroute to a three-way tie for fourth place. Her 168 total was the second lowest total for the Pirates. Cody Wallace improved by four strokes after the first day to jump into seventh place with a final round 83, ending with 170 strokes.

Erin Perry closed the invitational with an 89 to finish with 175 strokes in a tie for 10th place while Stephanie Scholer came in 22nd with a final round 96 for 185 total. Shae Seagraves continued to knock off the rust as she continued through her first competition in four years, shooting an 89 the final day to end with 182 strokes and tied for 19th. 

The SU Invitaitonal marks the end of the regular season for the Pirates. They will now prepare for the SCAC Championships to be held in Stone Mountain, GA beginning on April 23rd.
