PIRATES NARROWLY IN FIRST AFTER DAY ONE AT SOUTHWESTERN INVITATIONAL

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Southwestern women's golf team ended day one with a slight three stroke lead over St. Mary's College out of Indiana at the Southwestern Invitational on Monday.

Kelsey Coburn leads the way for SU and the rest of the field, capturing first place overall with a 78 in her first round. Coburn was sensational on the back nine shooting 36 on the final nine holes.

The rest of the field for Southwestern was stacked tightly with Kristen Davenport tied for sixth with an 85, Erin Perry tied for ninth at 86, Cody Wallace tied for 12th with an 87 and Stephanie Scholer tied for 18th with an opening round 89. Shae Seagraves posted a 93 in her first collegiate competition for Southwestern, finishing in 23rd place.

Southwestern will look to extend their lead with the final round on Tuesday at Berry Creek Country Club. Tee off is set for 8:00am.
