Leeder Named to D3hoops.com All-Region First Team

Junior forward Chelsea Leeder earned a spot on the D3hoops.com All-Region First Team for the South Region.

Leeder averaged 14.9 points per game while playing 28.6 minutes per game. She was second on the team in scoring, field goals made and was first in three pointers, averaging just over two per game. She shot 42.2% from the floor for the season, 32.8% from three point range, and posted team highs in blocks (27), steals (65) and was second on the team in assists (93).

This isn't the first recognition for Leeder. She was also a First Team All-SCAC selection while being named Co-Player-of-the-Year and Co-Defensive Player-of-the-Year for the conference.

Leeder is the only SCAC player to earn First Team All-Region honors and is joined by Murphy Burns of Trinity (Second Team) as the only representatives of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Click here to view the complete team listing

Southwestern ended the season with a 19-8 overall record and advanced to the SCAC Conference Tournament finals before falling to Trinity. The 19-8 overall record is the best for SU since becoming Division III in the 1993-94 academic year.
