LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Annie Bourne, a sophomore forward from Dallas, Texas, has been named SCAC Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, November 12 through Sunday, November 18.
Bourne had a sensational week as the sophomore led thePirates to a 2-0 start during the opening week of the 2012-13 season. Bourne averaged 14 points per game and an incredible 20 rebounds per game to go along with 3.5 assists per game fo rthe Pirates.
Against Mary Hardin-Baylor, Bourne scored 18 points on 7 of12 shooting (58.3 percent) to go along with 21 rebounds. She also added four assists, two steals and one block in an 84-73 win.
Against Texas Lutheran, Bourne tallied 10 points on 3 of 7 shooting to go along with 19 rebounds. She also added three assists, three steals and two blocks in the 83-69 win.
For the Week, Bourne shot just under 52.6 percent (10 of 19) from the floor while totaling 40 rebounds.
Southwestern has started the season 2-0 and return to action on Tuesday night to face Mary Hardin-Baylor in their first road contest.
