Pirates Have Best SCAC Championships In History

Rockwall, Texas – The Southwestern University Men's swimming team ended the SCAC Championships with a very successful campaign. The team finished in 4^th place with 626 points almost triple that of last years total, 17 school records broken, 2 NCAA "B" Cuts , and the Southwestern University Men's coaching staff won Coaching Staff of The Year.

The Pirates kept on improving and kept on setting school records. Tommy Frashier placed 2^nd in the 1650 Freestyle and broke a school record in the process. He also broke his own 1000 Freestyle record with a time of 9:46.50.

Ty Lapinski broke a school record in the 200 Backstroke placing 5^th, and CJ Payne had a personal best in this event as well. In the 100 Freestyle Dylan Johnson set a school record and placed 2^nd, Garrett Holody and Alex Christensen both had personal best during this event.

In the 200 Breaststroke, Kyler Wood set a school record and came in 2^nd place.

The relay teams have been strong all year and set a school record while placing 4^th in the 400 Relay Medley.

The Pirates now gear up for the NCAA Championships that begin on March 20^th 2013 in Shenandoah, Texas.
