Pirates Stay Strong With Win Over Austin College

Georgetown, Texas – The 22nd Ranked Southwestern Men's Swimming Team won their meet this weekend beating Austin College by a score of 122.5 to 67.5.

The Pirates are still growing and getting stronger as the SCAC Championships are on the horizon.  The relay teams for the Pirates have been impressive all year and this meet was no exception. The 200 Medley Relay saw the Pirates place 1st and 3rd. The 1st place team was made up of Ty Lapiniski , Sam Visser, Simon Gersib, and I van Cruickshank, they came in with a time of  1:44.99. The 3rd place team made up of Tommy Frashier, Daniel Withers, Marshal Sanderlin, and Alex Christiansen came in with a time of 1:46.20

Dylan Johnson placed 1st in the 50 and 100 Freestyle with times of 21.67 and 48.66.

Tommy Frashier also placed 1st in two other events during the afternoon, the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:50.01 and the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:07.33.

Kyler Wood placed 1st in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Breaststroke with times of 59.88 and 2:13.74. Sam Visser placed 2nd in both the 100 and 200 Breaststroke with times of 1:05. 48 and 2:26.83
 
The Pirates pulled out something special for this event with the addition of having a Diving Team compete for the first time.  Joe Quintero, Sam Visser, and Cody Taylor all did a great job.
 
The Pirates next meet will be January 26, 2013 vs Centenary College in Shreveport La.
