RELAYS HAVE GOOD DAY AT DAY ONE OF SCAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Southwestern men's relay teams had solid showings in day one at the SCAC Championships. The 200 yard free relay finished in sixth while the 400 medley relay came in seventh. SU is currently in eighth place overall.
The team of Patrick Flanigan, John Prater, Stephen Montes and Josh Stanfield finished in a time of 1:29.81 for the sixth place finish in the 200 free realy. Coming in with a time of 3:45.36 was the team of Stanfield, Jon LaRochelle, Flanigan, and Prater for the seventh place finish. Taylor Steele, Thomas Newman, Steven Weddell and LaRochelle combined for a 15th place finish in the 200 free relay.
Other finishes for Southwestern were Flanigan's 11th place finish in the 50 free with a season best time of 22.24 and Prater came in at 22.29 for 12th place in the event.
The Pirates continue with the Championships on Friday with the preliminaries and finals for the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, and the 800-yard freestyle relay.
