SENIOR ATHLETES RECEIVE RECOGNITION OF YEARS AT FIRST WATCH CEREMONY
GEORGETOWN, Texas - Thanks to the generous donations of the members of Southwestern's first booster club, The Pirate Crew, the Athletic Department was able to begin a new tradition of awarding watches to senior athletes whom had completed eligibility while at Southwestern.

ANNUAL ALUMNI SOCCER MATCH SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 10TH
GEORGETOWN, Texas - The annual men's soccer alumni match has been slated to hit the field on Saturday, April 10th at 1:00 pm. The Pirates are expecting a record-breaking turnout with over 30 players returning to the pitch. Following the match current Pirate parents will prepare a meal for all the participating players and friends to share some fellowship and laughs.

PIRATES HAVE 47 STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO FALL 2009 ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL
SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2009 fall term and 47 Southwestern student-athletes representing all five fall sports were earned recognition. A record 780 student-athletes conference-wide made the list.

MEN'S SOCCER CLOSES OUT SEASON WITH END OF YEAR BANQUET
GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Southwestern men's soccer team closed out their 2009 season with an end of the season awards banquet to highlight the success of the season. The Pirates finished 9-9 overall and 5-5 in the SCAC, finishing in fifth place overall.

SUWANEE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today announced its second annual Men’s and Women’s Soccer All-Sportsmanship teams. Twenty three men’s and women’s soccer players were selected to the 2009 squad.

PIRATES END SEASON WITH 3-2 WIN OVER RHODES
GEORGETOWN, Texas – With a dense fog rolling across the field the Pirates said goodbye to four seniors who have had the most successful careers at Southwestern. Josh Spencer, David Lozano, Nathan Shaw-Meadow (pictured) and Checo Carreon ended their careers in style with a 3-2 win against Rhodes College.

With a large crowd on hand, the Southwestern men’s soccer team dominated almost every facet of the game to take a 1-0 win on a late goal by Alex Keller. The strong Pirate defense allowed only 1 corner and 6 shots.

SOUTHWESTERN MEN DEFEAT OGLETHORPE 3-0 BEHIND TWO GOALS BY HOLLEMAN
ATLANTA, Ga. – The Pirate men’s soccer team picked up their second win of the weekend behind two goals by junior Tom Holleman (pictured). Southwestern shutout Oglethorpe 3-0 to improve to 7-9 overall and 3-5 in the conference while the Petrels fall to 6-10-2 overall and 1-7-1 in the SCAC.

KELLER’S GAME WINNING GOAL LIFTS PIRATES PAST SEWANEE 2-1
SEWANEE, Tenn. – Junior Alex Keller’s (pictured) goal in the 67th minute of action on Friday gave Southwestern the 2-1 win over the sixth place Sewanee Tigers. With the win the Pirates improve to 6-9 on the season and 2-5 in the SCAC while Sewanee falls to 8-8 overall and 4-4 in conference action.

MEN’S SOCCER NARROWLY FALLS TO #9 TRINITY IN DOUBLE OT THRILLER
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Southwestern’s men’s soccer team almost knocked off #9 Trinity on Saturday night, but eventually fell to the Tigers 3-2 in double overtime. With the loss SU falls to 5-9 on the season and 1-5 in the SCAC.

PIRATES DROP UPSET BID IN FINAL MINUTES OF CONTEST
GEORGETOWN, Texas – After playing 82 minutes of balanced action on Sunday morning the Southwestern Pirates saw their upset bid over Centre College slip away on a header to lose 1-0. Southwestern falls to 5-8 overall and 1-4 in the conference while Centre improves to 11-3-1 and 5-1-1 in the SCAC.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomore Nick Pierce had a season high 12 saves but the Pirates dropped their match Sunday at Birmingham-Southern 2-1 to fall to 5-6 on the season. The Panthers improve to 9-2-1 on the season.

JACKSON, Miss. – Senior forward Josh Spencer scored the first and last goals of the game and the Pirates had 19 more shots than the Majors, but Southwestern still dropped the conference match-up on Friday night 3-2. SU falls to 5-5 on the season and 1-2 in SCAC conference action while Millsaps improves to 7-5 and 2-3.

PIRATES DOMINATE IN 8-1 VICTORY OVER UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS
On a wet and sloppy day, the Pirates dominated every aspect of the match to defeat the University of Dallas 8-1. The Pirates dominated the shots column 27-7. Southwestern was led by senior Josh Spencer and junior Alex Keller who scored 3 goals a piece.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Southwestern men’s soccer team executed its game plan and seemingly dominated their non-conference match against Rowan University, but fell 1-0 in San Antonio on Friday night. The Pirates took 16 more shots than the Profs and had five more corners but were unable to capitalize on any.

SHERMAN, Texas – The Pirate men’s soccer team rebounded from their conference opener loss to take down Austin College 2-1 on Sunday in their second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match of the year. The Pirates improve to 4-3 on the season and 1-1 in SCAC action while the ’Roos fall to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Southwestern's men’s soccer team fell to 3-2 on the season after a goal in the 75th minute lifted Hardin Simmons University to a 2-1 victory in the final game of the American Southwest Conference-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Challenge on Saturday at a rainy HSU Soccer Complex in Abilene.
