COLORADO COLLEGE TOO MUCH FOR PIRATES IN FIRST SCAC ROAD GAME

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Coming off their first win of the season and in the history of the program the Southwestern lacrosse team knew they had a tough road ahead of them as they head to face Colorado College on Saturday afternoon. The Pirates fell 27-0 to drop to 1-1 in the conference and 1-9 on the year.

The game was lopsided from the outset as the Tigers scored 19 goals on 51 shots while holding SU scoreless and with just seven shots in the first half.

Southwestern was only able to get one more solid look at the goal in the second half, recording just one shot, while Colorado continued to apply pressure and scored eight in the final two quarters. The Pirates were outshot 72-8 and had 43 turnovers during the contest. Colorado won 27 of the 31 faceoffs and had 45 more groundballs than Southwestern (66-21).

The Pirates have a much deserved off weekend this week before returning to SCAC conference action against Birmingham Southern on April 16th and Sewanee on April 18th.
