PIRATE LACROSSE FEATURED IN NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM RELEASE
GEORGETOWN, Texas - There is no doubt that lacrosse is a booming sport in the United States and the growing popularity has been chronicled in a variety of publications, most recently in the NCAA Men's and Women's Lacrosse Championship Programs. With Southwestern leading the charge in Texas, the Pirates have brought much recognition to the University including in the NCAA release.

INAUGURAL SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE WITH LOSS TO SEWANEE
SEWANEE, Tenn. - Southwestern University's men's lacrosse team wrapped up their first ever year as an NCAA sponsored sport, falling 19-6 to Sewanee on Sunday afternoon. SU ends the year at 1-11 overall and 1-3 in the SCAC.

PIRATES RETURN TO FIELD, FALL TO BSC
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Southwestern's lacrosse team got out to a slow start on Friday evening as they dropped their second consecutive SCAC contest, falling to Birmingham-Southern 20-3. SU slips to 1-10 overall and 1-3 in the conference with one game to play.

COLORADO COLLEGE TOO MUCH FOR PIRATES IN FIRST SCAC ROAD GAME
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Coming off their first win of the season and in the history of the program the Southwestern lacrosse team knew they had a tough road ahead of them as they head to face Colorado College on Saturday afternoon. The Pirates fell 27-0 to drop to 1-1 in the conference and 1-9 on the year.

SUWANEE, Ga. - THOMAS MOCK OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a 6-0 junior midfielder from Weatherford, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 22 through Sunday, March 28.

PIRATES PREVAIL IN SCAC OPENER THRILLER, KNOTCH FIRST WIN IN OVERTIME
GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern needed a couple of solid defensive stops and just one shot in overtime to earn their first victory of the season 9-8 over Hendrix College. It was the SCAC opener for both schools with each team searching for their first win of the season. Thomas Mock's third goal of the game lifted the Pirates to the win.

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Pirate's schedule for the weekend has changed. Southwestern's game vs. Western Connecticut State for Friday has been canceled and the SCAC opener with Hendrix is moved to Saturday beginning at 2:00 pm.

Head Coach Joe Ernst, the Pirates men’s lacrosse program and the Southwestern University Athletic Department announced their inaugural recruiting class this afternoon.
