JONES EARNS WEST ALL-REGION HONORS

HERSHEY, Pa. -  On Tuesday the Division III PING All-Region honorees were announced by the GCAA. A total of 72 players across six regions - Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Great Lakes, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2010 including Southwestern University Senior Rick Jones.

Jones has been the leader of this young but talented team throughout his final season as a Pirate. In 10 tournaments in the 2009-10 season he finished in the top 10 five times including an impressive second place finish at the SCAC Championships where he finished first in the Region and had the lowest round of the tournament with a final round 70.

For the season, Jones had a 75.18 scoring average and was 3.64 versus par in 22 rounds.

Jones is the only SCAC golfer recognized in the West Region and joins Nick Reardon and Ryan Berra of DePauw and Chris Morris of Centre who were named in other regions.
