GOLFERS JUMP UP ONE SLOT TO FINISH IN FIFTH PLACE

The Pirates shot 19 over par as a team on Tuesday to end up one spot from their day one position to finish in fifth place at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational

Senior Ricky Jones has started off his senior season on mission, shooting two under par in the final round and one under par for the tournament, ending in a tie for fifth place with 213 strokes. Jones was just four strokes behind tournament champion, Jonathan Alden of Trinity, who ended with 209 strokes. 

First-year James Charles continued to play like a seasoned vet. He shot a one over par on the final round to end at +3 (219) in a tie for 17th place. Claiming 22nd place was sophomore Sean Madera who shot an even par on his final round to end with a five over par 221. Sophomore Cody Patrick echoed his second round score, shooting a final round 74 (+2).

Rounding out the Pirates were sophomore Cameron Fanning who shot an 85 the final day to end with 230 strokes and first-year Mikey Vaughan continued to improve on his previous rounds, shooting a 77 to close out the tournament with 236 strokes. 

The Pirates will next head to the Rhodes Fall Classic in Tunica, MS on September 20th.
