JONES, GENTRY NAMED AS KASSEN/LOWRY ATHLETES OF THE YEAR 2010
GEORGETOWN, Texas - Seniors Audra Gentry and Ricky Jones received the 2010 Dr. Carla Lowry and Dr. Texas Kassen Awards which denotes the top female and male student-athletes at Southwestern University for the school year.

JONES EARNS WEST ALL-REGION HONORS
HERSHEY, Pa. - On Tuesday the Division III PING All-Region honorees were announced by the GCAA. A total of 72 players across six regions - Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Great Lakes, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2010 including Southwestern University Senior Ricky Jones.

CHARLES NAMED SCAC MALE FRESHMAN GOLFER-OF-THE-YEAR

PIRATES RECOGNIZED AS CO-CHAMPIONS FOR 2010 SCAC CONFERENCE TITLE
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The 2010 SCAC Golf Championships came to a conclusion on Sunday evening with the Centre College and Southwestern University men finishing in a tie for the conference crown. Centre earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament via a tiebreaker.

MEN'S GOLF STORMS BACK FROM FIFTH TO END TIED FOR LEAD AT SCAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - After a day one that found the Pirates just five strokes out of first place and a day two cut short by torrential rains and thunderstorms the Southwestern men's golf team put together a sensational final round and a half to end tied for first place at the SCAC Championships. SU lost out on their first-ever title in a tie-breaker, the fifth score each day.

PIRATES FALL TO THIRD IN FINAL ROUND OF WEST REGION INVITATIONAL
ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Southwestern men's golf team dropped out of second place in the final round of the West Region Invitational held in Round Rock, Texas on Tuesday. They were eight strokes out of second place and 27 behind first place finisher UT-Brownsville.

MEN'S GOLF IN SECOND PLACE AFTER TWO ROUNDS AT WEST REGIONAL
ROUND ROCK, Texas - Even with a late start and slow play on the course the Southwestern Pirates men's golf team was able to put together a solid team showing at the West Region Invitational held at Teravista Golf Club on Monday afternoon. After two rounds of play SU sits in second place overall with one round to go.

CONCAN, Texas - Southwestern University's men's golf team finished in eighth place out of 13 teams at this year's annual Concan Intercollegiate Classic, finishing with 644 strokes, just two out of sixth place.

CHESTNUT MT., Ga. – The Southwestern Pirate golf team closed out their fall season on Tuesday at the Royal Oaks Invitational hosted by Oglethorpe University. SU finished at +44 four the tournament an in 12th place out of 16 teams.

PIRATES JUMP TWO SPOTS ON FINAL DAY TO FINISH IN TOP FIVE
SPRING BRANCH, Texas – Even though the Southwestern men’s golf team had a strong opening round with all golfers shooting below an 80 on the opening day they still found themselves sitting in sixth place at the Alamo City Classic on Monday. SU buckled down on day two and the top five golfers either equaled or bettered their day one score to finish in fourth place.

SALADO, Texas – The Southwestern men’s golf team had a solid team performance to come in fifth place overall at the UMHB Invitational, just 11 strokes behind first place Tyler Junior College. All Pirates finished within 13 strokes of each other over the two rounds, proving that SU has a deep team for the 2009-10 season.

Southwestern's men's golf team ended the first day after two rounds of play in sixth place out of 12 teams at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational on Monday. This is the first tournament of the fall season for the Pirates.

YOUNG PIRATE GOLF TEAM BEGINS FALL SEASON
The Southwestern men’s golf team begins their fall season on Thursday with the deepest team Coach Ruyle has ever had. Coach Ruyle returns three of the top five golfers from last year, senior Ricky Jones and sophomores Sean Madera and Cody Patrick.
