Centre senior guard Kris Bentley tied an SCAC Tournament single-game record with eight three pointers and added 31 points as the Colonels won its second SCAC Tournament championship with a 72-67 win over the Southwestern University Pirates.

Throw out the stats when it comes to a rival game. For the third time this season Southwestern and Trinity squared off, however, for the first time since the 2004-05 season it was Southwestern turning up roses with a 68-63 win.

BIG FIRST HALF BOOSTS PIRATES PAST DEPAUW IN SCAC TOURNAMENT
A big first half that saw the Pirates shoot 50 percent or better from the field (50%), three-point range (55.6%) and the free throw line (61.5%) set the stage for Southwestern University's 69-62 win over DePauw University in the first round of the SCAC Conference tournament on Friday.
