Sterling started 15 of the 20 games he appeared in, posting a .222 batting average. In 36 plate appearances he recorded eight hits, one double and scored six times while driving in three runs.

2010 (First-Year)

Appeared in 20 games for the Pirates and started in 4 contests...had 6 hits in 22 at bats for a .273 batting average...finished the season with a .882 fielding percentage.

High School

As a member of the 2009 State Runner Up, Jay was a 1st team All-State team member.

Jay is the son of John and Katherine and has two siblings, Dane and Drey.  Jay is a Business Management and Accounting major at SU.
