Southwestern Swimmers Beat Austin College, Drop Meet to Trinity

Southwestern University swimmers took on SCAC conference rivals Austin College and Trinity University on Saturday, November 15th. The Pirates came out on top of Austin College with the women winning by a count of 140-68 and the men winning 123-40. The Trinity match-up didn't go the Pirates way with the women losing 146.5-85.5 and the men dropping the contest 154-59.
While all swimmers swam well, the men's 200 freestyle relay consisting of Freshman Travis Macha, Sophomore John Prater, Sophomore Taylor Steele and Freshman Evan Firth set a new school record with a time of 1:31.31.
The victory against Austin College gives both the men's and women's squad 2 dual meet victories. The next contest for the Pirates is on Friday and Saturday at the Dallas Invite in Dallas, Texas.
