SU Alumnus Coached Texas' First High School Baseball Championship Team

Read about Southwestern alumnus William C. "Nemo" Herrera in the June 27, 2011 issue of Sports Illustrated. The story, titled "The Barrio Boys", tells of the first Texas high school baseball championship won by the El Paso Bowie Bears and coached by Herrera.

Southwestern presented Herrera with a Citation of Merit in 1974 and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1995.
