Pirates Kick-off Season with Shopping Cart Parade

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Friday night the SU Women's Basketball team opens their season as the SU community supports The Caring Place. 

Southwestern will hold their second annual Shopping Cart Parade at halftime of the women's game scheduled to begin at 8 p.m on Friday night. Fans are asked to vote for their favorite shopping cart by placing donated canned goods (as many as you can bring!) into the cart they like the most.

This year's event is once again sponsored by HEB with support from Jimmy John's and all donated food collected will go to the Caring Place food pantry in Georgetown.  

Southwestern is also sponsoring an Instragam contest. Post your pictures at the game using the #SUPirates hashtag and you could win a great Jimmy John's prize! Winners will be announced at Saturday's women's basketball game beginning at 7 p.m.
